
Stephan Danninger
Director
Mr. Stephan Danninger was appointed Director of the IMF – Singapore Regional Training Institute in August 2017. Prior to taking on the position, he worked for 17 years at the IMF headquarters in Washington D.C. During this period, he led projects and teams in various capacities, including the macroeconomic analysis and forecast for Germany, Japan and the United States. He also worked in the IMF’s Research Department and published in various academic journals on topics related to growth, inflation, trade, fiscal policy, financial spillovers and labor market issues. Mr. Danninger is an Austrian national and holds a PhD in Economics from Columbia University, New York.

Ales Bulir
Deputy Director
Mr. Ales Bulir (Aleš Bulíř) joined the IMF – Singapore Regional Training Institute (STI) as Deputy Director in September 2020. Prior to joining STI, he was Deputy Division Chief in the IMF Research Department and Institute for Capacity Development. He joined the IMF in 1993 and worked in the European, Monetary and Exchange Affairs, African, Policy Development and Review, Research and Institute for Capacity Development Departments. His graduate degrees are from the London School of Economics and Prague University of Economics. Prior to joining the Fund, he taught economics in Prague and worked at the Czech National Bank. His research interests include the role of communication in monetary policy, macroeconomic modeling, and the role of development aid.

Tok Yoke Wang
Senior Economist
Ms. Tok Yoke Wang has over two decades of experience in central banking, spanning macroeconomics research, financial stability analysis and international relations. She has worked at the IMF as a Senior Advisor to the Board, at the Toronto Centre as Program Director, at the World Gold Council as Director and at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). At the MAS, she held various senior positions, including as Principal Economist in the International Economies Division as well as in the Financial Surveillance Division and the External Department. Yoke Wang holds a Masters Degree in Economics from Cambridge University and a First Class Honours Degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore.

Rajan Govil
Senior Economist
Rajan Govil joined the IMF – Singapore Regional Training Institute (STI) in March 2018. He has earlier worked as an economist with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and as economist/investment strategist in the private financial sector. Until recently, Rajan was a consultant to the Asian Development Bank, the Australian Indonesian Partnership for Economic Governance (AIPEG) and the private sector. At AIPEG, he helped the Indonesian National Planning Development Agency (Bappenas) build a macroeconomic model of the Indonesian economy. Rajan has also advised investment management firms on global asset allocation, economic opportunities and assessing risks. He has earlier taught at the STI, Delhi University, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and Vanderbilt University. Rajan has a Ph.D. in Economics from Vanderbilt University.
