The STI’s training program consists of short courses of up to 3 weeks in duration. The courses and seminars focus on macroeconomic, financial, legal, and statistical issues of relevance to IMF member countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Since the offerings emphasize subject areas on which the IMF staff has expertise, the courses tend to have strong synergies with the IMF’s work on surveillance, stabilization programs, and technical assistance. Besides IMF and STI staff, lecturers are also drawn from other international agencies, governments of IMF-member countries, the private sector, and universities.
