Webinar Description

The webinar focuses on the actions and priorities that supervisors should consider in planning medium- and long-term responses to the unfolding COVID-19 crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced market stress, volatility, and a protracted state of uncertainty for financial institutions and their supervisors. Supervisory authorities have responded to the initial wave of the pandemic by, among other approaches, reprioritizing their focus and actions. However, as the outlook remains highly uncertain and new waves of the pandemic with adverse economic impacts cannot be ruled out, supervisors will need to continue adapting their work programs. IMF experts will discuss key considerations and policy recommendations for supervisors and regulators and will conclude with an interactive Q and A session.
